New
National Coach, Steve is a three time winner of
Golden Nugget and would dearly love to win again and
has the motivation to be the first with four wins.
Always a big time player, Steve will be the man to
beat and should make the top 2 in his section. |
|
2010
Black Douglas winner and semi finalist this year,
Anne is an Australian A squad member who has won
Australian Open Triples twice. Will do well and will
not surprise if in the final 4 on Thursday. |

Esme
Steyn
|
South
Africa
|
|
2010 Golden Nugget winner on debut. Brett is now
ranked No 3 on Australian rankings after two great
years on Australian bowls circuit. 2009 Australian
Open winner and will start favourite to win back to
back titles but this has never been achieved in the
mens competition. Player’s pick as hardest to beat
and is the inform player in this tough field |
|
2011 South
African singles winner and SA national
representative in 2010 in Norfolk Island for World
Champion of Champions. Esme will be tested on the
slick Tweed greens and also from her opponents but
could be the surprise entrant. One to watch |

Julie

New

|
|
Talented
Under 25 champion who was runner up to Brett Wilkie
last year, Sean is making his third appearance and
has improved each year so there is only way to
better last year and that is to win which would not
surprise. Certainly has the talent and will be a big
threat again. |
|
Former
Australian Open winner and a member of the
Commonwealth team in Delhi. Julie has something to
prove to selectors and to win the Nugget this year
would be a terrific boost and this could be her
year. |

Joyce
Lindores |
Victoria
|
|
Former world
champion and now bowls manager at Warilla, Jeremy is
a big force on the green and a welcome presence on
the Tweed Heads greens. Surprisingly this is
the first time for Jeremy in the Nugget and he has
the power and finesse to win first up on debut. |
|
2010
Australian Open Singles winner and a true
international bowler over many years, Joyce has an
achievement record so long and would dearly love to
add the Golden Nugget to the list. Will be hard to
beat if she can find top form on the fast tweed
greens and will appreciate the 25 shots up format.

potential to be a super star in the world of bowls –
this could be the starting point |
|
World
Champion and along with Jo are the best lady bowlers
in NZ. Val has a record number of International Caps
and will relish the traditional format of 25 shots
up and is well suited to the slick Tweed greens/ One
of the favourites and should feature in final 4.

Carmen
Anderson |
New

|
|
World
Champion Andrew brings along many years of
experience playing against top Kiwi and Australian
bowlers with great success. Like all Kiwi bowlers
they love the fast greens especially here at Tweed
and would not surprise if Andrew finishes close to
the top of his section. |
|
Defending
her 2010 title, Carmen is recognised as the toughest
competitor of all and will be hard to beat. Won in
08 and should finish close to the top of section
again. Prolific winner of major tournaments around
Australia, Carmen has an advantage on the Tweed
greens and her never say die attitude should see her
through to finals again. |

in July this year |
|
Young 18
year old who burst on to the bowls scene 12 months
ago with win in Queensland Open and followed up with
Junior Golden Nugget success and in won the
Australian Open at Darebin in February. Will be the
centre of attraction and this youngster has
certainly stirred up the pundits. Should do well on
her debut in this tournament |

reach the finals again. In great form and narrowly
lost to Kerkow in prestige Singles. |
|
5 time

Carmen Anderson last year in a mighty effort all
things considered. The most consistent player in the
field with the best record and can never be
