Australian Open Pairs winner and dual NZ Open winner, National Squad member, Sharyn was runner up in the Nugget in 2007 and has been most consistent over many years. A top player and in form will be hard to beat .Australian Commonwealth Games Representative in Triples team

Making his debut after stellar year in 2009, popular World Champion of Champion and 2009 Australian Open winner plus a major force in the professional ranks on the World Bowls Tour, Brett is certain to make his presence felt and will be one of the hardest to beat in this class field   2009 Queensland State Singles winner and semi finalist in 2010 Australian Open losing to eventual winner, Lyn played well in the nugget in 2009 and carried on her form in open with some big scalps including NZ’s Val Smith. This section will test Lyn but could surprise on her home green

First time in Nugget last year and will benefit from the experience. Talented under 25 champion and prolific winner of all State Titles in Queensland and Northern Territory Sean should improve this year after narrowly losing to Glasson 24/25 in round 5 in 2009 and now has the chance in round 1 this year to even the score!    Commonwealth Games Skip for the Triples team, Julie has a great record in singles and would dearly love to win a Golden Nugget. A former Australian Open winner and a national representative for many years now Julie will be hoping this will be her year.

Prolific winner of major invitation singles tournaments all over Australia including 4 South Pacific Singles titles, 4 Lake Cathie Singles plus Hub of the Hunter Singles     – NSW State Representative and NSW State title in Pairs, Triples and Fours. Australian Open Triples – one to watch 2010 Australian Open Singles winner and a true international bowler over many years, Joyce has an achievement record so long and would dearly love to add the Golden Nugget to the list. Will be hard to beat if she can find top form on the fast tweed greens and will appreciate the 25 shots up format.

Holder a record 10 New Zealand National Titles, Gary is a major player in the world of bowls and relishes the opportunity to showcase his great skills to the lawn bowls world. Gary will be out to show the world that he has what it takes to win this prestige tournament- one to keep an eye on!   World class champion and Australian Singles representative in 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi , Kelsey will appreciate the fast green and the match practice against international opponents. Has the talent to win this event but needs to finish in top two in this tough section – has youth on her side and only time will tell!

2009 Golden Nugget runner up to Steve Glasson in his debut. Lee impressed all with his talent. A dual Victorian Champion of Champions Lee will be hard to beat and could possibly make the final again in 2010  2008 Golden Nugget winner and a prolific winner of tournaments across Australia, a true international who has never represented Australia but always is hard to beat and will go close again in 2010. A popular player Carmen always gives all and is a real crowd pleaser.

Three time winner of the Golden Nugget and 2006 Commonwealth Singles Champion, Kelvin will be looking to make it 4 wins before Glasson and should make the semi final which will please his huge fan club here at Tweed Heads.

Runner up in 2009 was a great effort from Therese and will be all the better from finals experience and will be all out to finish one better this year. Western Australia ’s top lady bowler, Therese only has to hold her recent form to be a force to be reckoned with in this 2010 field

25 year old World Champion Safuan is playing for the first time on the Tweed greens and should relish the opportunity and show his amazing skills. A talented crowd pleaser and has the skill to overcome this elite field but will need to be at the top of his form – only time will tell!   5 times Golden Nugget winner and 3 Australia Indoor titles, Karen is the one to beat and should reach the semi finals on Thursday. Karen is no stranger to the wind and fast greens at Tweed and will start favourite to win her sixth title even against this class field. Karen has fierce desire to win !

Top Australian Singles player, and former Australian Open and Indoor winner and National Singles representative in Delhi for 2010 Commonwealth Games, Leif had a wonderful year in 2009 and will have many supporters and backers to say he will win his first Golden Nugget – a favourite with the crowd and will go well 2009 Golden Nugget winner and the first New Zealand lady bowler to do so and Jo is keen to defend her title against this class field. Has a liking for the Tweed greens and the winter sunshine which brings out the best in this talented Kiwi. Up against a class field and will need to re create her 2009 form to succeed again in 2010

2010 Australian Open singles winner and top player for many years, winning NSW Champion of Champion singles and Australia representative player , Aron has the ability to win the Golden Nugget and his many fans will agree and would not surprise to least make the semi finals on Thursday. Commonwealth Games Pairs skip n India

.Young up & coming bowler who goes well on the grass greens in Qld and Tweed. Has plenty of ability and will benefit from the experience playing against the internationals in this class field. Rebecca will be hoping to cause a few upsets and make the semi finals on Thursday. Will be one to watch!

Young rising star making his debut in the Golden Nugget, Ben will benefit from playing against the best in the country and should do well. Ben made a big impression in 2009 and on the World Bowls Tour in the UK. Could be the first of many Golden Nugget appearances for this young Queenslander.   

Making her return to the Nugget, Beth has an impressive record over many years including 2009 State Singles winner and also skipped the winning State Fours team. New to the National squad, Beth won a silver medal in the recent 8 Nations event in Delhi . One to watch and would not surprise if Beth made the semi finals on Thursday.

Winner of 8 matches in top field in Prestige Singles to win Wildcard entry. Commonwealth Games Triples skipper, Mark is in top form, has the ability to win exclusive double and will be favourite with many pundits. Should make the finals on Thursday.
Well credentialed Victorian bowler with Geelong Champion of Champions title under her belt A regular visitor to the Tweed Coast who relishes playing singles and is in form on the Tweed Greens, Joan is very competitive and should do well and enjoy the experience.
