behalf of the Directors, Members and Staff of

the Tweed Heads Bowls Club, I would like to

extend a friendly welcome to competitors and
spectators from near and far to this year’s
Golden Nugget Invitation Prestige
Singles.

- This year for
the first time we have organised a Golden Week
of Bowls
commencing on Sunday August 3 with the Junior
Golden Nugget played indoors, followed by a
Pro Am in the evening.
- .
Commencing on Monday August 4 will be the
famous Golden Nugget which
has become one of the most prestigious bowling
events in Australia. This year the Tournament
Committee has once again selected a field of
outstanding bowlers from within Australia and
overseas, and I’m sure the spectators will
be thrilled with the expertise of these elite
competitors as they strive to join
the list of illustrious winners of the past.

- The Golden Week
of Bowls will conclude on Friday August 8 with
a new event
destined to become a permanent feature, with
four current men and women
Golden Nugget players playing against invited
men and ladies who have
contributed so much to the sport of lawn bowls
– the Golden Greats. This
event will be played on the indoor green with
the first match commencing at
8.30am. You are invited to come along and
watch all the action.

My Committee and I acknowledge the great
contribution many of our own
members make in a voluntary capacity to make
tournaments such as the
Golden Nugget a success, and I congratulate
and thank them for their
contribution most sincerely.

Bowls Club is recognised internationally for
its ability to
present major tournaments that are
advantageous to the participants; provide
first class entertainment to spectators; and
give us the ability to promote the
sport successfully. We thank the sponsors for
their generous support which
assists greatly in the running of this
tournament.

behalf of all members, best wishes to each

they along with our many
